Terrarium Workshop

Terrariums are glass containers designed to grow small plants while creating a controlled, self-contained environment. The plants we typically use for terrariums are species that enjoy warm, humid conditions—most commonly tropical plants. Succulents can be used in open terrariums, but they generally prefer drier environments rather than the high humidity of closed terrariums.

i) Succulents

We offer many species to choose from. Visit our Succulent Page in the Plant Library tab to explore the varieties available and learn about their specific care requirements.

ii) Tropical Plants

Polka dot plant, Hypoestes phyllostachya

This plant comes in pink, red, and silver varieties. It can grow quite tall over time but can be pinched back to encourage a more compact growth habit.

Care: Provide bright, indirect light and maintain high humidity. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring the soil never becomes waterlogged.

Nerve Plant, Frittonia albivenis

Works very well in terrariums, as it thrives in high humidity and warm conditions.

Care: Provide bright, indirect light and maintain high humidity. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring the soil never becomes waterlogged.

Ferns

Many varieties of ferns add amazing textures to terrariums from their feathery fronds. We recommend small variety ferns that won't outgrow the pot quickly such as Button Fern and Dwarf Boston Fern.

Care: Provide bright, indirect light and maintain high humidity. Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, ensuring the soil never becomes waterlogged.
