Bonsai Workshop

At our Bonsai workshops, we offer a variety of plant species to choose from, and below are a few options you may find available. Each plant has its own specific care requirements, so it’s important to keep these in mind when selecting your bonsai.

Tropical Hibiscus, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis

This plant is valued for its large, showy blooms, which open beautifully for a single day but appear repeatedly throughout the season.

Care: Provide full sun or bright, indirect light, and keep the soil consistently moist while ensuring it drains well.

Dwarf Jade, Portulacaria afra

Also known as Elephant Bush, this plant is recognized for its small succulent leaves and quick-growing habit.

Care: Provide bright, indirect light and allow the soil to dry out between waterings.

 Hawaiian Umbrella, Schefflera arboricola

They have umbrella-shaped leaves and distinctive root growth.

Care: Prefers full morning sun with reduced afternoon exposure, well-drained soil, and high humidity. Humidity refers to moisture in the air, not extra watering, which helps prevent root rot.

Geranium, Pelargonium

This plant is not commonly used for bonsai, but it can create an interesting shape, though it

may have a shorter lifespan.

Care: Provide bright, direct light and water thoroughly once the top of the soil has dried.

Ficus, Ficus Microcarpa

These are among the most popular species for bonsai and naturally resemble miniature trees.

Care: Provide bright direct or indirect light. Water generously when the top layer of soil is dry. They prefer high humidity and warm conditions.
