A Ball Seed Exclusive selection. Glossy, 8 to 9-in. (20 to 23-cm) fruit. 76 days to maturity; teardrop fruit shape; purple-black color.
How To Grow
Wait until the soil reaches 15 to 20 degrees Celsius, mid June. Grow in full sun. Grows best in well-drained soil rich in organic matter. Add aged compost or commercial organic planting mix to planting beds ahead of planting and turn the soil to 12 inches deep. Eggplants prefer a soil pH of 5.5 to 6.8. Warm the soil in advance of planting by laying black plastic over planting beds for two weeks.
When To Harvest
Harvest fruits when they are 6-8" long, and glossy. Remove from stem with knife or shears.
