4" Variegated Wandering Jewel
Tradescantia fluminensis 'Variegata'
Also known as Inch Plant and Small-leaf Spiderwort
Description: Fleshy green leaves with purple and silver striping and deep purple underside of the leaves. Desired for its showy, colorful foliage and fast growth. It can be used as an indoor houseplant or used outside during the summer months in hanging baskets or patio planters. Located in the full sunlight, the greatest color intensity can be appreciated.
How to Care: Tolerates a wide range of growing conditions. Does best in filtered sun, average room temperatures and moist but well-drained soil. Tradescantia naturally become spindly in low light conditions and need to be pruned regularly and pinching stems will encourage fuller growth, improving it's appearance.
Note: Tiny three-petaled lavender-purple flowers appear infrequently indoors and each flower only lasts for 1 day.
