4'' Persian Violet
Also known as Exacum affine. Cultivar is 'Princess Blue'.
Mounded biennial with petite, ovate, light green foliage. It can grow up to 15 cm in height and width, and has long-lasting, fragrant, violet-coloured flowers. This crop is perfect for casual plant owners because of its low cost, fast production, and extremely good shelf life.
How To Grow
Violet requires bright, indirect sunlight (think a south or west-facing window) and extremely well draining soil. The most common problems with violet are usually caused by high humidity and lingering moisture in the soil over a period of time. Also make sure to space plants out to allow lots of air circulation; this will help prevent excess moisture build up on the leaves.
